HAMA (Hatua na Maendeleo) is a Tanzanian NGO that was established in 2014 as a new initiative in cooperation with the social business TICC (Tanga International Competence Centre). The roots of HAMA goes back all the way to 1984, when the founders of TICC, Ruth Nesje and Odd Lund-Isaksen first started working in Tanzania. HAMA is a religion-neutral organization that works to improve the conditions for the poorest of the poor. The core of our efforts are based on a positive psychology thinking (AI-Appreciate Inquiry) from which we focus on working with and developing peoples strengths. We are based 12 km south of Tanga in the north-east of Tanzania.
